Just get a good dock for the sound system at the cycle studio and you'll be cooking like gas in no time.

Steve does getting your own doc for the studio sound system make the music sound better? I think our sound system where I teach is mono, not stereo. Would a doc for my iPod fix that (and I apologize if that is a totally stupid question--I'm clueless about this kind of stuff)...

The dock gives much improved sound quality over the "earplug" cable into the stereo. If your whole system is mono.. then there will be little change. In addition most docks also allow charging as you are plugges in so keeping your backlight on the whole time won't run your battery down.

Man the amount of apps for this thing is crazy. How can you tell what is junk and what is cool. I like that bump thing I think that can come in handy

There's an app that farts. You can even program it to fart at specific times (so you can, you know, hide your phone under a pillow of a couch where you know your boss is going to sit).
The guy sold 2 million @ $.99 in just a few weeks.
dontcha wish you thought of that???

LOL- I bow in your presence Lori
The apps I use the most are the DirectTV app that lets me use my home DVR from the phone. I love the Huffington Post. I bought the CNN app. And I subscribe to the Sirius app for $2.99 a month and get satellite radio on the phone.
There is so much streaming music apps for free available. Google earth obviously.

The New York Crossword puzzle app is great. I like WeatherBug better than the built in weather app. My friend create the app called Baaa, it kind of funny.

I thought you just wanted music mixing apps -- dude, i LOVE the apps on the iphone.
Some of my favorites:
Starbucks has an app that uses the GPS to locate you, then locate the nearest location .. then gives you directions on how to get there!!
Shazam is priceless.
I use the yousendit app to track my sends/recieves
The Hotels.com app to book hotels,
Fandango to buy movie tix
The Facebook app to well, you know .. facebook.
The Skype app is way cool. If you're coonected to wifi, you can make internet calls as opposed to cell calls. What makes this worthwhile, is being able to communicate with someone outside of the US via their computer and your wifi connection free of charge!
I could go on and on, but i will pace myself.

Todd mentioned the Aroundme app. That one is simply incredible.
I like the voice memo app. I record my ideas for profiles and cueing, believe it or not! But if you just want to verbally remind yourself of something, or record a discussion with someone so you don't have to write things down, it's great.
(and no, Meg, I don't have the fart one!!)

But! More people need electronic whoopee cushions.
These apps can elevate so many of the current pet peeves (and me) for us as instructors. From exploring music to taking and making class content this keeps me up and running when I don't have time to go home or bring a lap top along in a gym bag. Only if MM could put out a small app :) but I bet that there is already something out there that is close.

I want to add the metronome app now for those that want a audio/visual RPM guage.
