Budget accomodations for WSSC

Just booked 5 nights at the Continental Bayside Hotel in downtown Miami from Wed 5/30 to Mon 6/4. The hotel is located at 146 Biscayne Blvd and is directly across the street from the Bayside Market Place. It's also just a 5-10 minute walk to the InterContinental Hotel.

I was able to get a rate of $43/night by booking the room here.

This rate is less than half the rate you would get if you were to book directly through the hotel during those same dates. The total damage comes to $240.85 for the 5 nights, which I have to say I'm pretty happy with.

For those who want to stay at the Intercontinental at the group rate: a friend and I booked a room there yesterday at the group rate of $165 a night. How? She got on the phone with the people at Madd Dog and sweetly and persistantly convinced someone there to help her. Maybe that was the last room, don't know.

It's worth a try to call MDA if that is what you're looking for. Although Mat's deal is great too.

I had to book my room by calling the hotel. For some reason, the on-line system doesn't work properly. They told me that I wasn't the first to call and mention that.
