Ok, we're < 2 mos out. I'm already starting to pack :) and thought we'd begin here by just compiling a list.
I kinda know many of us already know who's going, but let's start fresh in case we've missed anyone.
Copy the list, paste your name and post!

Rick won't have to bring it all the way from England -- just from Philly. I supply to poster-board & sharpies.
Meeting under a sign?
Groucho Marx once said..."I never want to belong to a club that would have me as a member".
I'll be the one buying the vodka after the last ride (and shower).

How's the mighty LV treating you?
Weather perfect...hotel spectacular (Mandalay Bay)...saw Elton John last night (he's just great..I could talk about how much I like Elton John for weeks)...thongs are still popular at the pool (I should have opened a chain of tattoo parlors many years ago) and I am a luckless gambler.
I'll be at WSSC sitting and taking notes with Cheeze and YJ on the side of some room. Probably making fun of the riding postures of other instructors.

Well, I bring a minimum with me. I bring my schedule book, notebook, etc. If I am riding, I'll bring my heart rate monitor, I'll wear my bike shoes & a jacket (it can get chilly). I find myself running back and forth to my room several times, jumping into the shower & so forth. I'm not big on lugging around a bunch of crap so I'm always switching things out as needed/not-needed. I usually have a snack & water with me too.

05-09-2007, 07:17 PM
Well, I always say that I'm gonna lighten up on the gym bag that I bring into the sessions/rides, but I never do.
I will attempt  to only have these essentials in the bag:
cycling shoes
HR monitor
session book
spiral notebook
deoderant
germX
anti bacterial wipes for the bikes
wash cloth
brush
hairspray
hat
underwear, shorts, top (or something) to put on after a ride in
towel
water bottle
snacks
bag of chocolate kisses :D
I try to go up to the room after rides, if I can, unless I get detoured in the boutique.

Unless you are able to generate such a photo using computer graphics, wearing thongs or Speedos is not gonna happen...Now I might lose some monumental bet or drunk enough on a dare, but it better be a bottle of Elete or a losing bet in the 5 digit range. Cause I can hold my liquor and I know my wagering. So I stick with solid color basic swim trunks.
Now...if you'd want to take a field trip to a nude beach.....

Cannondaleguy

Kelly-
The following places are good but everything on the beach is expensive:
Nexxt- huge portions, salads and pasta, excellent chocolate desserts.
Japanese- West side of Lincoln Road near the theaters there is a good Japanese place.
Italian- Pizza Rustica, pizza place (by the slice) across from Nexxt. Rosinella's east on Lincoln Road near towards the beach on the north side of the mall. Tiramisu is another good one. Leo's near Books and Books is good. Books and Books has a little cafe in it if you want to get away from the madness for a while.
Van Dyke's and the Cafeteria are good and have a huge menu selection(both are open 24 hours).
Generally, the best thing to do is walk up and down Lincoln Road. There are a ton of little places to check out. All have in/out door dining.

http://miami.retailguide.com/data/m100189.htm

There is a ton of street parking in which you will need a ton of change. You can also find a three parking structures (one by the theaters on the southwest side, one about mid mall on the northside and one directly on the east side of Macy's which is the one I usually park at and is closest to all the restuarants...).

Thanks Felix!
Felix....just a suggestion about timing your eating on that Thurs....a couple years ago I did a pre-con all day Thurs thing 9-5 and then ran to get in line for Josh's 6-9 pm ride. Then after riding I was starving and it was late and a very tempting pizza joint was across the street called my name. I scarfed down 2 pieces of greasy pizza and washed it down with a Sam Adams. Then I woke up the next morning to ride at 7 am, and thought I was going to die. I was nasueaus, dizzy, lightheaded, you name it and I felt like crap!
If I had to do that day over again here's what I'd do. Wake up early enough to eat a balanced breakfast. Pack mucho healthy snacks in my gym bag and graze "all day long" and into the evening ride as well. I possibly also wouldn't ride the whole thing either, maybe part. I'd skip going out to dinner that late after the ride, because if you have a morning session, the food doesn't feel that good that late.
Just my sad WSSC gastro history, take it or leave it!
Cannondaleguy

Kelly-
I will follow your words of wisdom!!! On July 15 of last year I went to dinner with 17 friends. I ate a huge plate of pasta with salmon, a salad, two martini's, a little piece of cheese cake and coffee. 6 am the next morning was not a pretty event and had the same symptons you had after the pizza and beer. Some how I made it to Oferdale's and ordered an ET bagel toasted TWICE with some low fat cream cheese, a large black maderia coffee and got my butt down to Lizzy's orientation for 9 hours. There was more than a SPINNER bike spinning that day. I spent the rest of that Sunday just grazing between the rides and lecture.
Now I just graze all day when I attend rides and CEU's as you suggested. I have a list of the following ready to pack for the weekend:
Energy Bars
Raw nuts
Dried appricots
Bananas
Bagel chips
Water and Green Tea
Fresh Fruits
The above is what has helped me get through the day while attending some 6 CEU courses the past 5 months...
BTW.. the French Vanilla and the Mocha Cream Vanilla Musclemilk are awesome!!!!!!!!!!
If anyone has any other suggestions about food please let me know! This is my first time on a 'marathon' of rides and lectures in four short days. I usually do the two day circuit with a Bikram Yoga class here and there.
